A white willow
by Duncan Mills
There are many incredible trees in Hyde Park and after joining one of the Royal Park Foundation‘s guided nature walks last weekend I’ve learned a few facts about some of them. So to start a week of tree photos, here’s a picture of a white willow. The willow is best known as the wood used for cricket bats, with a springiness that means it doesn’t crack when subjected to pressure, making it perfect for hitting cricket balls.
