A couple prepare to board a London Underground train as it arrives on the platform at Hyde Park Corner tube station.

7/7 Memorial

The stainless steel columns of the 7/7 Memorial near Park Lane, built in memory of the 52 victims of the July 2005 London bus and tube bombings.

Memorial on a winter’s day

Beyond a crisp layer of fallen leaves can be seen the 52 stainless steel columns that comprise the 7/7 memorial.

Trees of winter

A colonnade of trees in rank and file in the eastern edge of Hyde Park, their leaves carpeting the ground all around on another chilly winter’s day in London.

Royal Albert Hall in the snow

The snow made for a beautiful in Knesington Gardens, adjacent to Hyde Park, as well. Here, a dusting of snow lines the roof of one of London’s most iconic and impressive buildings, the Royal Albert Hall – best known as the venue of the world famous summer Proms concerts.

Oh snow quiet

Winter peace and tranquility in Hyde Park, carpeted in a layer of snow.

Snow fun

A bit of snowy fun… snowmen (and even a snow dog!) on pleasure boats on the Serpentine.

Magical winter scene

One of my favourite sections of the park, made even more special by snowfall.

A snowy Hyde Park!

As snows sweeps across much of Britain there’s plenty of the white stuff in London, too – providing young and old with a good excuse to get outside and enjoy the snowy spectacle.

Lust for life

Following on from yesterday’s post, another detail from the Joy of Life fountain near Park Lane. This couple are the central feature of the fountain, holding hands and appearing to dance above the water.
