As snows sweeps across much of Britain there’s plenty of the white stuff in London, too – providing young and old with a good excuse to get outside and enjoy the snowy spectacle.

One more sleep till Santa

Christmas Eve is here and although Santa won’t have time on this, his busiest day of the year, to stop off at Santa’s Pub in London, it seemed a fitting picture for today. Happy Christmas one and all!

Mulling it over

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

A large Santa Claus welcomes visitors at the Hyde Park Corner entrance to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. With a flurry of snow in the air first thing this morning there’s a chance that it will be a truly wintry wonderland in London this weekend.

Winter festivities approaching

Behind a park bench bequeathed by the Indian High Commission to mark the Golden Jubilee in 2002 are the twinkling lights of a helter skelter and other fairground rides. Fun fair amusements, beer halls and Christmas gift stalls are right now being put up in preparation for Winter Wonderland, one of London’s biggest Christmas attractions, which opens to the public this coming Friday, 23 November, and runs until 6 January.
